The most import reason is that there was a heavy snowfall in the place of origin in early May. This is the time when the paprika seedings have just been transplante and grown. Affectd by the freezing damage, it is edtimated that the production will be reduced about 1/4 to 1/3. Due to these reasons, the paprika and chilli price jumped USD500-USD800 per MT. It is expected that the price will remain at a high level this year.
